Company History

Leatherite International (Pty) Ltd was incorporated in 1988  by ex employees of Silverton Tannery as a wholesaler of tanned leather to the industry.

A sister company, Leatherhobby (Pty) Ltd was incorporated in 1992 when the need arose to service  smaller customers and private individuals. During the late 90’s Leatherhobby (Pty) Ltd was incorporated into Leatherite and our associated leather tanning company, Kwandebele Tanning (Pty) Ltd, was sold as a going concern.

What the company does

Leather  wholesaler of all types of leather,  leather tools and accessories.  Large range of leather for upholstery, including corrected grains,  full grain, semi-aniline, pull up and buffalo print.

Bulk supplier of leather cleaner to various distributors.

Customer Base

Our main customer base is that of the micro/small to medium businesses and to the general public who do not wish to source directly from Tanneries due to, inter alia, minimum quantities, lead times etc.

We have successfully supplied leather to various state organisations including large tenders to THE SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SERVICES and CORRECTIONAL SERVICES.
